About Us

About Us

The High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom is Canada’s diplomatic mission in the UK and the seat of Canada’s permanent representation to the International Maritime Organization. As part of Canada’s foreign ministry, known as Global Affairs Canada, we help define, shape and advance Canada’s interests and values in a complex global environment.

We manage and promote Canada’s diplomatic relations and international trade with the UK, and provide consular assistance to Canadians residing in or travelling through the country. We support Canada’s international development, humanitarian, and peace and security assistance efforts. We also help contribute to national security and development of international law.

We run a cultural diplomacy programme that has supported hundreds of Canada’s finest artists and diverse voices, projecting Canadian values and supporting Government of Canada priorities through culture. As part of this programme, the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom also houses the Canada Gallery, exhibiting contemporary Canadian visual artists to London’s public.

Advocacy and Cultural Diplomacy at the High Commission

The High Commission works to enrich the Canada-UK relationship through a range of activities including exhibitions hosted in our gallery space within Canada House on Trafalgar Square, regular events that celebrate Canadian culture across the country and support Canadian artists in the UK through funding opportunities.
