Following the UK premiere of Tell Me Why These Things Are So Beautiful (dir. Lyne Charlebois), a feature film based on the secret correspondence on human sexuality exchanged between the botanists Marcelle Gauvreau and Brother Marie-Victorin, The Quebec and French Canada Research Network (QaFCaRN) at King’s College London presents an exhibition of botanical photography pairing images taken by Marie-Victorin in 1930s Quebec with those of contemporary British photographer, Keir Watson. The opening will feature a round table discussion on “Representing Nature on Film” along with the launch of the book that inspired the film (Lettres sur la sexualité humaine, Yves Gingras and Craig Moyes, eds.). A wine reception in the gallery space will follow.
