This year’s BFI London Film Festival (LFF) includes five Canadian features, two Canadian co-productions and five Canadian shorts including two features in competition for LFF Awards. In the Best Film category is Deepa Mehta’s immersive collaboration with Sirat Taneja, I AM SIRAT about a trans woman living a double life in New Delhi. For Best First Feature it’s Fawzia Mirza’s soulful comedy-drama THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS. Other titles include SWAN SONG on National Canadian Ballet artistic director Karen Kain; Pascale Plante’s psychological thriller RED ROOMS; and romantic comedy THE NATURE OF LOVE by Monia Chokri.
